Chill out, concentrate with the atmospheric noises of the Drone Zone.

ShareChill out, concentrate with the atmospheric noises of the Drone Zone.
Around the time of midterms, I posted a site called SimplyNoise, a whitenoise generator that you can use to block out distractions. If you liked that but are looking for something a bit more interesting when studying for your finals, try listening to the Drone [...]

Everything’s Amazing, Nobody’s Happy

Share
Everything’s amazing, nobody’s happy. I whole-heartedly agree. By no means am I completely innocent from this, but in general we are in a generation of whiners and complainers. What hit home with me the most was the guy on the airplane complaining “This is bullsh**.”about the lack of on-flight wi-fi. I hear those kind of [...]

Google is known for its amazing work environment. It’s the dream job for every engineer, and they only take the very cream of the crop. Well now Google has opened up their first offices in Canada, downtown Toronto overlooking Yonge and Dundas, and it’s pretty interesting to see their creative and eco-friendly interior design. Have [...]

Make your iPhone an Ocarina

Share
Whether you’re a fan of Blackberrys, Nokias, Windows Mobiles or the like, you have to admit that the iPhone has had some of the most creative applications yet. This application is an amazing idea, I got it and it’s even more versatile than a real Ocarina. This is Ocarina for iPhone by Smule.

Well, we’re halfway through November already, and I think most people agree that it’s okay to start thinking about Christmas now! In 2006, indie-folk favourite Sufjan Stevens released his anticipated Songs For Christmas CD collection, and I just wanted to take a moment to highly recommend it. Let’s face it. We’ve been listening to the same Christmas songs and carols for years now. Sufjan brings classic carols back to life with his soft, soothing voice and unique musical style, but he also adds a lot of his own material to the mix, like “Put The Lights On The Tree”. Suddenly you won’t be so sick of Christmas songs, and will be itching to whip out Sufjan’s Christmas collection every year! The story is that Sufjan had recorded Christmas CDs for his family and friends for a few years, never releasing them to the public. Finally he decided to release them all at once, and you end up with an amazing package of 5 individually packaged CDs, with bonuses such as Christmas stickers, music video, poster, and more! 5 Christmas EPs for about $19, you can’t go wrong. Give the song in this post a listen, you’ll love it! Order the collection on the Asthmatic Kitty online store, or buy it from your local record shop.

Coldplay and Jay-Z Collaboration a Let-Down

Share

I actually was pretty excited for Coldplay’s collaboration with Jay-Z on a new version of their song Lost from Viva la Vida called Lost+ (have a listen by clicking the player above the picture, Jay-Z’s part isn’t till about 3/4 of the way in). I thought the song was gonna get an overhaul, but [...]

Feist at the Air Canada Centre

Share
Last night I saw Feist perform at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. I only knew her song “1234” that launched her to fame when used in an iPod commercial, but I got a hold of some cheap tickets and decided to go anyway.
Aside from her solo work, Feist performs in the group Broken Social [...]

Hamster on a Piano

Share
I just can’t stop watching this! This little hamster doesn’t have a care in the world, just as long as he keeps eating his popcorn. And the song to go along with it just makes it that much better.
